The DeWalt DC720 is a compact 1/2 drill/driver which provides users with superior ergonomics, better performance and enhanced durability. The DeWalt DC720 offers end-users a dual- speed range of 0-500 and 0-1700 respectively, all packed into 4.8 pounds of compact weight and size. In addition, the DeWalt DC720 has new components including a frameless motor that delivers 410 unit watts of power and all metal planetary gears for enhanced durability. Built in features include a LED light, 1/2 single sleeve ratcheting chuck to reduce bit slippage and onboard bit storage. Includes: DC720 Cordless Drill/Driver only. Great replacement Drill

I had the same Dewalt DC720 drill and wore out the gear head. A replacement gear head costs almost as much as this bare drill. Since I already had batteries I bought this bare drill and couldn't be happier with it's performance.

Review of DC720 Dewalt Tool Only

"Disappointed" is an understatement. I've used previous models of DC720 for more than 6 years installing steel studs, acoustical ceilings, hollow metal doors, hardware, and cabinetry with much success. First time used drill chuck would not grip 1/8" drill bit. Even #7 drills used for pre-tap hole, slips due to inability of chuck grip. Clutch mechanism will not drive screws to depth and clutch out. This unit is unacceptable and not worth the money invested.

I was happy with the fast shipping and the way this tool works. I would recommend it to anyone requiring the same type of tool. I do feel it should have been packaged betetr prior to shipping even thou it arrived undamaged.
