Product Description
Proxxon 38644 Power Carver MSG for the carving and restoration of all types of wood. This tool takes the work out of your carving projects and can be used for numerous applications; e.g., for the restoration of furniture and for the restoration of antiques, for linocuts and precision paint removal. It is also possible to process plaster. The special, balanced, low-noise DC motor has extreme high-life expectancy. The gear head is made of die-cast aluminum and the main housing is of fiberglass reinforced Polyamide. Technical Data: Speed 10,000 cuts/minute; Maximum Power is 1/10 horsepower; Volts 110 - 120 Volt AC and weight of the tool is 1.5 pounds. The Power Carver MSG comes in a high-grade polypropylene storage case with carrying handle. It is extremely stable and sufficiently large to enable the Power Carver to be replaced in it after completion of the work without difficulty refitting. The 38644 comes with three high-quality laminated steel (bi-metal) Japanese made carving blades (U-form, V-form and flat blade).

Proxxon power chisel

This is a fine carving tool. I had read other evaluations that had me prepared to need to go shopping for an "ove glove" to be able to carve with this tool. I carved for a while with it and never noticed it getting hot. I reminded me of a dremmel tool. It was about that loud and about that same temperature. As for how well it did, I was surprised that the tools that come with the tool are not really what I would call detail tools. I have used it to work on a wooden chain that I am carving out of pine. The unit is good for large work. I am going to buy some additional chisels with smaller gouges and chisels for the detail work. This unit does do good work inside the house without generating dust. It complements my power carvers and my palm chisels and knives.

Proxxon 38644 Power Carver MOS

The Proxxon Power Carver works really well. I wish it had a variety of carving tips. I bought the adapter for my Flexcut carving blades. It helps, but the Proxxon Carver is now 4-5 inches away from the wood that is being carved. You would need two hands to carve with this set up. None the less, this is an excellent product. I use it all the time.
