Just like the big names, only with a better price!!!

This tool does the job as well as the dremel, including having the ability to change out the brushes. One word of advise though, when you first get this tool, run it at full speed, for a few minutes to allow the brushes to properly seat, thus giving them maximum life.Overall, I am VERY pleased to have spent a mere 45 bucks to have a great rotary tool with all the added accessories as well! Very cool to have the included flex shaft, which costs about 25 bucks by itself if you buy Dremel! Basically, if your on the fence about this one, like I was, get it! You'll be happy you saved yourself a ton of money on something that does the same thing as it's higher priced counterparts!!UPDATE<<<<< 1/7/13 Minus 1 star...I had to come back to update my review to say that when you tighten the chuck, BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERTIGHTEN! The collar is plastic and I cracked mine from over-tightening, although, in my opinion, it should have not have been so flimsy. The plastic seems to be pretty brittle so beware!Other than that, it had ran perfectly fine and had plenty of power, the only issue I have is with the plastic and tightening metal counterparts to plastic housings usually results in breakage if not careful so I wanted all of you owners of this tool to beware.

Still working with it

I bought this to replace the Ryobi rotary tool I had used for the last 10 years - and had finally given up the ghost. I drill thousands of 2mm holes in glass so that is the primary use. This tool is as heavy as the Ryobi and has more variable speeds. I'm not sure whether it's the motor or the speed adjustment but it doesn't drill as well. Periodically it squeals very badly. It is absolutely piercing no matter how I adjust the speed. When I exert some pressure on the tool, it slows down rather significantly.I never had this problem with the Ryobi. I had hoped to use the long attachment for drilling glass (rather than holding the heavy tool) but it didn't seem to work as well as holding the tool itself. Bottom line - it's o.k. - I miss my Ryobi and wish they still made it. Comes with tons of attachments but doesn't say what they all are.

put it to work

A few days later I put it to work. I am so pleased w/all the attachments and smoothness of the GRYO it self. I put it to the test ran it up to 35,000 RPM and Wow! Very, Very nice. I'm actually trying to think of something else I can do. lol The light actually was a help. thanks, thanks thanks
