Do Not Buy

I did some on-line research before deciding to buy this pressure washer, largely upon the high reviews from Amazon buyers. This product does not live up to the high rating.When I received the washer I was initially pleased. It looked like a quality product, and it worked well for about 2 hours. After taking a short break the unit had it's first problem. The motor sounded like it kicked into high gear, and the pressure dropped. I checked the water hose to make sure there were no kinks or other issues. Everything was setup as it should be, and the pressure washer continued to have problems. After an even longer break, attempting to call their support line, the washer started to work again.The second issue I encountered was their lack of support. I called the support number, which directed me to press one if I was in the USA, which I did, and it promptly hung up on me. I did this several times, and I also pressed zero for an operator. All the support line did no matter what I pressed was hang up. No "Leave a message", or call back later, or voice mail. Just dial-tone after it hangs up. Worthless support.After failing to get support, the unit was working again so I went back to work, and to the third problem. The center section of the spray wand is held together with two pins, both of which fell out. The wand blew apart. One pin may never have been there, the other was still partially in but cocked to one side after blowing apart. This is from normal home use. I was just washing my fence. Total use, maybe 4 hours.Also, the fittings are not brass as some have said, they are aluminum, though the one on the front has a thin brass coating for color. As soon as it gets a scratch (which is easy to do) the aluminum beneath is revealed. This is not a quality product.

I purchased 2000 psi Snap-On Electric Pressure Washer from Amazon after researching for a few months. I bought it in late April 2011, worked great to clean my deck/sidewalk, happy with it. Fall in Ohio, removed water from the system to make sure no water remains anywhere in system, stored in 50 degree plus garage over winter. Got it out in March, pump doesn't work, water dribbled out of nozzle, also the handle part leaked water all over the place. Called Snap-On since my 1 year warranty hasn't expired, was told to call Amazon regarding Warranty. Called Amazon, was told to call Snap-On. Finally the person at Snap-on said she will ask the Corporate Headquarter to check as to whose responsibility it is to honor the warranty. Amazon said that after May 31, they have nothing to do with warranty (I purchased on 4/20/11). Got a call from Snap-On engineer who basically said that they found over 90% of the returned pressure washer was returned because the consumer did something wrong to it, not due to manufacturer's defect, therefore it will not be covered under their warranty. My only option to get my less than 1 year old pressure washer to be working would be for me to ship it from Ohio to California at my expense, then they would check to see what/who caused the problem - Snap-on is going to decide this - if they felt it was caused by something I did or I didn't do properly, I would be charged for the repair and again to have it shipped back. Their customer rep said it would be like $100 to ship to them (hope she meant round trip), then the price for the repair (another $100??) for $169 pressure washer! I'm very unhappy with Amazon for not honoring/catering to their customers, and to Snap-on for making a very poor quality pressure washer and blaming the customer for problems that occurs. I take very good care of everything I own, yet made to feel somehow it's my fault that their pressure washer doen't work after 2 uses, then to make it sooo expensive to have it repaired, discouraging the customers to go forward. I'm out of $169. I plan to file complaints with the Attorney General's office. Please DO NOT BUY Snap-On Pressure Washer, you will regret it. As for Amazon, I bought 10 to 15 items this year alone. Until this happened, I felt their customer service was great but I no longer feel that way, very disappointed in them, that they didn't do anything to help me when I bought the pressure washer from them. Please be careful what you buy from Amazon.

Great pressure washer!

Firstly, as usual, AMAZON's free shipping was great as the item arrived within one week of order. I used it to clean the vinyl siding of our house which is beige or tan, but because it has not been cleaned for the past few years, literally the vast areas of different shades of green had become the dominant color. Set up was for the most part easy with the quick set up guide. However, I had to play around with the elec. cord, the garden hose and the washer hose so that they do not get tangled. But once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze. The pressure was strong enough to get even the "greenest" areas of the sidings. I only give it 4 stars because I wish the wand was a foot longer. Since I have only used it once (but I gave it a good workout, I think), it remains to be seen how long it will last. By the feel of the material, although plastic for the most part, it felt like good quality plastic. I agree with the others that having brass fittings was a great plus. I also I like the fact that the machine cranks up with the noise only when the trigger is pressed. I thought that it would be like a generator, running non stop until you press the off button. After the siding, my wife and I worked on the concrete foundation and the granite steps all of which were cleaned with ease. I have not tried the detergent dispenser, which would be ideal when I wash my cars (whenever that might be!) All in all I believe I invested in a good product. By the way, we got a couple of estimates to have the house cleaned and they were asking an average of $700 for the job. Ha!!! I hope to come back and update this review in the future, which might take sometime as I have to wait until the house gets dirty again, then I'LL BE BACK!
