Won't recharge

Placement of the electrical contacts on this item are different from the battery it is supposed to replace, so it will not recharge in the Makita recharger. Very disappointing.

Battery would not accept a charge. Provided the model number of makita that uses rechargeable batteries. Have bought other batteries that have worked.

As you can see, the seller lists this as a "Makita Replacement 9000 power tool battery." What it is is an aftermarket replacement for the real Makita battery. It is not made by Makita as the seller would have you believe. It weighs significantly less than the real one. It is obviously made much cheaper and, unlike the real one, it also gets very hot when in the charger. It does fit in my drill and powers it. I have not used it enough to tell if a charge lasts as long as the original equipment one does. I would have spent more to buy an original equipment one if the seller had been honest and stated that it is not made by Makita.
As you can see, the seller lists this as a "Makita Replacement 9000 power tool battery." What it is is an aftermarket replacement for the real Makita battery.
